Fornication

I found out the bible said the same thing that my heart said when i was sleeping around (fornicating)~

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication…     Gal 5:19

…they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.    Gal 5:21

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.     Matt 5:28

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:           1 Thess 4:3

Jesus said~

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46

what do we do then? We repent:

I asked my friend Zoanne how to come back to Jesus and she said. “you turn and He’s there so you just start walking.”

we confess our sins:
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.     Prov 28:13

I felt so condemned because of the extent of my fornicating and the Lord showed me these scriptures to let me know I was not the first person with these issues:

Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.     Ezek 16:28

A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.      Jer 2:24

Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.     Jer 2:25

I really didn’t think there was any hope for me.

O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.     Hosea 13:9

He showed me that He not only forgives us, but can cleanse us also:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.    1 John 1:9

Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.     1 Peter 2:1-3

we can ask others to pray for us:
I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence,  And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.    Isaiah 62:6-7

And we pray:
As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.      Dan 9:13

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.    Romans 8:26-27

I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy … for I am God, and not man;     Hosea 11:9

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.  For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.     Psalms 103:13-14

We acknowledge that we cannot change ourselves,

For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.      Romans 7:15

Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Romans 7:17

O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord… Romans 7:24-25

or in the amplified version:

We know that the Law is spiritual; but I am a creature of the flesh [carnal, unspiritual], having been sold into slavery under [the control of] sin. For I do not understand my own actions [I am baffled, bewildered]. I do not practice or accomplish what I wish, but I do the very thing that I loathe [[a]which my moral instinct condemns]. Now if I do [habitually] what is contrary to my desire, [that means that] I acknowledge and agree that the Law is good (morally excellent) and that I take sides with it. However, it is no longer I who do the deed, but the sin which is at home in me and has possession of me. For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot perform it. [I have the intention and urge to do what is right, but no power to carry it out.] For I fail to practice the good deeds I desire to do, but the evil deeds that I do not desire to do are what I am [ever] doing. Romans 7:14-19 Amplified Bible
O unhappy and pitiable and wretched man that I am! Who will release and deliver me from [the shackles of] this body of death?  O thank God! [He will!] through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One) our Lord! So then indeed I, of myself with the mind and heart, serve the Law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:24-25 Amplified Bible

I still felt pretty bad about myself, I knew I was a sinner, a fornicator extraordinaire, and He showed me this scripture:

But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?  And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:30-32

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.     Luke 19:10

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.     Luke 23:34

…Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:      1 Cor 15:3-4

And we turn to Jesus for help:

…and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.      John 6:37

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)     Eph 2:1-5

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.      Romans 6:21

O Israel, return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.  Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.      Hosea 14:1-2

…we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.    Dan 9:18

I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.    Hosea 14:4

And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul…    Isaiah 58:11

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.     Eph 5:5

Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:  Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not,…   Isaiah 44:1-2

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.   Rev 3:20

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:     John 1:12

… the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness…    Gal. 5:22

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?     Luke 11:13

The disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1&4) and then again not much later (Acts 4:31)

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.       Ezek 36:26-27

Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.      Acts 11:16

For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;      Heb 7:26

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.       Gal 5:16-17

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,  According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. Phil 1:19-20

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.    Heb 4:16

Our sins can be hidden in Jesus,

before I gave my will and life over to Jesus I had been very promiscuous, there was one lady’s house I used to go to because her son threw the best parties. This woman was often there but not really participating in the parties, she stayed sober when they were going on and was just there to make sure the parties didnt get out of hand i suppose. She was always really nice to me but after I got saved she really didn’t like me anymore, it irritated her that I became a christian. She began saying lots of things to people about me so that they would know what a really bad person I really was. I was fully ready to confess that yes I was a pretty wicked sinner and had slept with lots of men at those parties and I was about say so but I had to stop in amazement. She kept telling people  adamantly that I had slept with a certain man, lets call him Pete. The thing that amazed me was that I had maybe slept with every other guy there, but I had never slept with Pete! I just ignored her instead of saying anything and said a silent prayer of thanks to the Lord!

Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.  He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.       Micah 7:18-19

In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.     Jer 50:20

For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the Lord of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.     Jer 51:5

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.      Col 3:2-3

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.     2 Cor 5:17-21
