The Gospel is good news for sinners, these writings are written by sinners for real sinners to read. Righteous people with great self control and few sins will probably not like them. People that know they are sinners and have no power to change, and people that have gone to church and done everything they were told to do but still couldn’t change and people who never felt unconditional acceptance, might like these writings.
The bible says that Jesus is a friend of publicans and sinners, He alone has the power to change us when we cant. Jesus said He didn’t come to condemn the world but to save it.
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered… Joel 2:32
‘whosoever’ means thieves, murderers, drug users, alcoholics, men stealers, liars, people traffickers, prostitutes, pedophiles, rapists, adulterers, witchcrafters, slanderers, backsliders, and so much more.
And Jesus also said “…and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out”. John 6:37
