ministers of the new testament

God doesn’t want us to go out and tell people about Him and try to heal people. No, God wants us to become an empty vessel that Jesus can fill, who will then tell people about Himself and heal people Himself, through us. Jesus is making us bread for the world: the wheat is ground, the bread broken. Successful ministers are willing to be exactly who He has called them to be, letting Him mold them into what He wants them to be. If they try to be ministers other than themselves following Jesus, it doesn’t work very well, and it doesnt work for very long.

Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.    John 1:29

…the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.    John 1:33

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:    Col 2:6-10

I believe that Jesus spoke this to me:
“I have churches filled with men and women that are trying to hold themselves up on doctrine and their own strength, thinking that they must be like “this” for me to use them. they speak the same, they walk the same, they have found a likeness of a godly man and they try to emulate him. What I taught in the Gospels was not my doctrine or the doctrine of men, but I spoke the words that the Father gave me through the Holy Spirit. The Living Father sent me, to be His vessel to speak His words, as He quickened them in my hearing. not just any words, but the anointed words contained in the scriptures, which he divided to be spoken as the Spirit gave utterance.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.     Heb 4:12

He knows each mans heart, He knows what to speak and what to say. what will set them free, or harden their hearts, as He wills. I endured the cross, I have been given this power as the only begotten Son of the Father.

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:  1 Peter 1:14

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.    John 5:30

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb 12:2

as Paul did:

For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.     Romans 15:18-19

Let me work through you, practice saying “yes, Lord Jesus”. Give me your mouth, what you hear whispered in your ear, that preach from the housetops, give me your feet, go where I send you. walk up and down in My name. Don’t pretend to be brave, come to me with your fears, I already know them. become like the truly human men and women that I called in the past, see how I worked through Elisha that raised the dead:

And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.  And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.  And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.  And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.  And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.  And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.  Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.  So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:  Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.  And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told me. Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?  Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.  And the mother of the child said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.  And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.  And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed. He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the Lord.  And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.  Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.  And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.  Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.  2 Kings 4:18-37

(I went back and read Elisha again and I thought about God using regular people, I had often thought Elisha was just so gifted that he just walked in and raised that dead child, BOOM, mic drop! Didnt happen like that at all, it actually reads more like a bumbling ‘I’m gonna try this and if it doesnt work I’ll try something else!’ First Elisha didn’t know what had happened and said “the Lord has hid it from me” then he told his servant to take his staff and lay it on the face of the child, that didn’t work, then he prayed and laid himself on the child, and the child got warm but not healed, then he went out of the room and walked around the house pacing, then did it again and finally the child was healed.)

and how I worked mightily through Paul,
For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.  Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us…    2 Cor 7:5-6

Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.  Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.  Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.  Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?  If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.   2 Cor 11:23-30

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;   1 Cor 1:27

And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:  That no flesh should glory in his presence.  But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:  That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.    1 Cor 1:28-31

And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears…   Acts 20:18-19

I made tears, if they were wrong I would not have given them to you. I cried when I was walking on the earth. all my servants have cried. you will weep again.

And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,     Deut 11:13

come to Me in honesty, come to me in sincerity, bring your fears, your joys, your anger, your sorrows do not be afraid to be vulnerable. when you bring me your deep hurts I can heal them.

The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.  He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.   Psalms 147:2-3

From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.   Isaiah 1:6

mollified 1
a primitive root; to soften mollify, (be, make) soft (-er), be tender.
