There are people that are bound up under the law, still not knowing the freedom and healing that Jesus dying on the cross purchased for them. The Lord gave me the following scriptures many years ago. As I wrote earlier, before I asked Jesus to fill me with the Holy Spirit, I was sure I was sterile. I hadn’t conceived in spite of numerous opportunities (numerous meaning hundreds and maybe thousands of incidents of intercourse with lots of diff people with absolutely no birth control. I knew I could never be the best of the best so I decided to be the best of the worst.) Then after i finally did get pregnant i lost the baby because he was born too premature. Then after Jesus saved me and filled me with the Holy Spirit I began reading the bible and I then went on to have numerous children, even when told by doctors I couldn’t carry children full term.
I compiled all that the Lord had shown me into this following section for a couple I met that had tried for years to have children but they were barren, they could not adopt and had resigned themselves to never having a child. After the woman read the scriptures she also became pregnant and they have been blessed with a lovely daughter. ‘You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.’ This does not mean that everyone will be healed of infertility, because sometimes God has other plans for people than their having children. But I am sharing to show what Jesus did in my life and also because this section gives a clearer picture of what “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:” Gal 3:13 means in this and other areas of our lives.
in the law it says:
(blessing) Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them. Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the Lord thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers: And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee. Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. Deut 7:11-14
(curse) But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: Deut 28:15
Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body… Deut 28:18
Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance. Deut 28:59
Give them, O Lord: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. Hosea 9:14
The issue with being under the law was that you had to follow it perfectly or have an acceptable sacrifice to atone for your sins.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. Gal 3:10
The good news in Jesus is that because of His death on the cross we are saved from the curse!
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Gal 3:13-14
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:4
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 2 Cor 1:20
Promises:
And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 14 Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. Deut 7:13-14
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Deut 28:4
And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. Deut 28:11
And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. Ex 15:26
…I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. Ex 12:12-13
… For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 1 Cor 5:7
Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. Ezek 36:37
There shall be no more thence an infant of days… Isaiah 65:20
They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them. Isaiah 65:23
Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Isaiah 66:9
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises… 2 Peter 1:4
Then i saw this scripture:
And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Romans 4:21
So I read some places in the bible to see if I thought He is able to do it I read about several women in the Bible who were barren:
Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Gen 18:11
And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. Gen 21:1-2
So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children. 18 For the Lord had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham’s wife. Gen 20:17-18
And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. Gen 25:21
And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years. And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren. And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me. And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the Lord hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon. And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi. And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the Lord: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing. Gen 29:30-35
And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die. And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb? Gen 30:1-2
And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son. Gen 30:17
And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb. Gen 30:22
…There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough: The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough. Prov 30:15-16
But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the Lord had shut up her womb. 1 Sam 1:5
And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her. Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the Lord. 1 Sam 1:19-20
For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God. Heb 7:19
In the new testament it speaks of Zacharias and Elisabeth. They were both righteous the bible says, but still had no child, in this case it wasn’t because of sin, it was the Lords timing~
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years. Luke 1:6-7
But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. Luke 1:13
And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:36-37
This is not to say that all barren women are under the curse and that because Jesus fulfilled the law that everyone will be able to conceive right now. John baptists parents were righteous, but she was barren. Perhaps Elisabeth felt downcast at times, wondering if only she was more righteous, had more faith, or could do something different, then she would be able to have a baby. Elisabeth didn’t conceive John the baptist until the day that the Lord ordained it. He was to be born at exactly the right time for his ministry as the messenger of the Lord. Nothing they did could change that.
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:13
Perhaps it is the Lords great mercy and tender love toward us if we do not have children in this present age. we must trust the Lord who knows what is coming in our future, we must trust that He knows what is best for us.
Jesus said when they led him away to crucify him :
For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? Luke 23:29-31
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house: And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment. But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter. For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. Mark 13:14-20
I have also felt the incredibly devastating loss of a child and I would like to share with you a few scriptures that Jesus shared with me during that time. They weren’t to replace mourning or sorrow but they did give me comfort during that very hard time.
The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness. Isaiah 57:1-2
And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward the Lord God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam. 1 Kings 14:13
Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the Lord, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the Lord. Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place… 2 Kings 22:19-20
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1 Thess 4:13-14
For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Phil 1:23
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:13
And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. John 16:22
