Jesus carried me through great darkness and into a large place of peace and joy and faith unfeigned. Jesus has been with me when I was in jail, Jesus was always with me even when the church was against me, the true Living Jesus that has shown me miracles and signs and wonders, the Jesus that always watched over me even when I fell into drugs and alcohol, promiscuity. That’s the Jesus I want you to meet. The Jesus who is always there no matter what, even when we think He has rejected us and left us alone. No matter how many times we fall, He lovingly picks us back up. No matter how many people reject us, He reminds us that they rejected Him also. He brought me out of many troubles into a large place where I could be free and full of His love again. I want to tell you about that Jesus but I want to do it like I received it, by the scriptures. They tell it better than I ever could.
A lot of people don’t open their hearts to Jesus because they don’t want to become like all those “christians”. Jesus doesn’t want to make us like “all those christians” He wants to make us like Himself. The second section of this book addresses some common errors I have both seen and fallen into in churches. I pray that instead of us conforming ourselves into models of churches and denominations we have seen, that Jesus will conform us into His image. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:29
I am just a servant of Jesus, a woman who loves much because much has been forgiven. I will not always be right as long as I am still down here on earth, seeing through a glass dimly. While I have prayed a lot about the things I share here, if I am wrong on a topic or opinion I pray Jesus will show you that.
Please pray often as you read, bring to the Lord any questions you have, and ask for His wisdom on things, and like the people in the book of acts: “… they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11
Also remember that while it is important to talk about Jesus and the bible, it is much more important to talk to Jesus, I think Corrie ten Boom said that, it is very true.
My friend Zoanne Wilkie once told me her story, and she said, “someone asked me if I knew Jesus, and I said of course I know Jesus!” She said though, that the question would not let her go and she realized that she knew Jesus like she knew Abraham Lincoln, she thought He was a good man and she memorized some things He said.
Then she came to know Jesus personally, the Son of the Living God, who is very much alive and interceding in men’s lives for their great benefit. She found more love than she had ever experienced in her life, and I have found the same love and great peace and forgiveness in Jesus as well, that is what I pray for people.
Please know that there is grace and forgiveness with Jesus for all. “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered…” Joel 2:32
“whosoever” covers a lot. It covers the thieves, murderers, drug users, alcoholics, men stealers, people traffickers, prostitutes, pedophiles, adulterers, witchcrafters, slanderers, liars, backsliders, and even righteous men like Nicodemus in the bible who Jesus said had to be born-again to enter the kingdom of heaven.
“…and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” John 6:37
